brief introduction to GESIE
Guangdong Education Service of International
Exchanges (GESIE), under the supervision of the Education
Department of Guangdong Province, is an outstanding and professional
agency committed to overseas study, training and immigration
service. It is one of the first few ones which have been granted
the certificate for offering overseas study service by the
Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Security
(Certificate No.: jwzzrz[2000]78). Ever since its establishment
in 1993, GESIE has been playing an active role in cultural
and educational exchanges between China and other countries
around the world. Now it has developed into an authoritative
institution with government accreditation and public confidence,
providing all-round, high quality and efficient counseling
and training service.
In recent years, GESIE has staged nearly
100 presentations for overseas study and a series of education
exhibitions such as Education UK, Education Germany and Education
Australia, etc. It sends around 1,000 students abroad and
trains over 1,000 students in English and French for different
purposes every year. In addition, hundreds of students have
been organized by GESIE to America, Canada, Britain and Australia
on summer & winter study tour.
Functions
of each department
Overseas Study Department: Providing
all-around service in the whole course, starting from the
application for schools or universities and students' visa
to the arrangement of airport pick-up and accommodation at
destinations for the students who would like to seek their
studies in America, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Australia,
New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Ireland,
Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Austria, Spain, South Africa, Russia
and so forth.
Training Department: Offering
a wide range of training programs in IELTS, TEF, Intensive
English, Teachers English and Children English; holding domestic
and international education exhibitions; organizing education
delegation tours to USA, European countries, Australia, New
Zealand and Singapore; organizing summer & winter study
tours at home and abroad and introducing foreign scholars
and experts into Guangdong Province.
Immigration Department: Providing
service pertaining to investment, business and skilled immigration
into Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as entry &
exit service for private purposes such as cultural exchanges
and family visits, etc.
Service Department: Providing
a range of services to prepare students for their overseas
studies, including evaluation of qualifications for self-financed
applicants with college degrees or above in Guangdong Province;
handling the admission application for government-funded students
and offering translation and notarization service.

Procedures for Overseas Study Application
Counseling:
Applicants shall consult the counselors in GESIE about the
information on schools where they would like to seek their
studies and requirements of school admission and select schools
that fit themselves.
Application for School Admission: Applicants
shall sign a contract with GESIE, pay application fees (those
under 18 years of age are required to be accompanied by their
patents) and go through the procedures for application by
providing the ID card and such documents as follows①: a. the
application form; b. resume (both in Chinese and English);
c. copies of the highest educational qualification certificate;
and d. the original school comments on applicants' performance
in the school where they studied and the academic transcript
listing courses they have taken and grades received. If Applicants
are studying in a school, they are required to show a certificate
of their academic transcript and performance in each semester
provided by the school. Acknowledgement of Admission shall
be applied by providing related documents.
Application
for passport: Applicants
shall get the application forms from the Public Security Bureau
or the Police Station where their permanent residence is registered,
by providing the original Acknowledgement of Enrollment or
copies, the registered permanent residence book and the ID
card. Applicants with college degrees or above are required
to have their academic qualifications verified in Service
Department before applying for passport. Applicants shall
apply for passport as soon as possible to ensure enough time
in visa application.

The following are subject to the Visa Application
Section of Overseas Study Department.
Visa application: Applicants
shall provide such documents to the counselor as follows②:
a. the passport; b. the notarial certificate both in Chinese
and English; c. the visa application form; d. the evidence
of financial support (the certificate of deposit and the certificate
of income provided by the applicants' parents' employer);
e. the Personal Statement; f. the medical examination result
provided by the designated hospital; and g. other documents
required by the Embassy or Consulate in China.
Preparations before going broad: Once
the visa is granted, the applicant shall: a. sign a contract
with GESIE for the conclusion of the service; b. book an international
flight;③ c. inform the visa counselor of the flight; d. buy
an ISIC; and e. make preparations for going abroad.
Airport pick-up & accommodation at
destinations: Applicants are received
at their destinations by GESIE's partners abroad.
